Super Bowl Fans!

Today is the BIG DAY!
The two best teams will be going head to head. Although I don't really care who wins, maybe you do?
My team, well I had two, the 49ers, because they are very close to home, and the Denver Bronco's, whom I have have loved for years, were knocked out in the playoffs. You all have to admit, both those teams came very far this year. They both had BIG improvements which I hope will carry on into the next season.

So, todays contest, well it was JUST planned, so I hope I get some good replies here!

What is the ending score of the game.
You will need to tell me what you think the final score will be of BOTH teams.
Whoever is closest wins a 35% discount coupon in my Etsy Shop!

Game time begins at: 3:30pm, in about 7 hours.

Please leave your guesstimate score, and an email address.
Make sure your email address is correct!

Happy guessing :)
I will be checking back here at kickoff!

New Fall Jewelry!

I am so thrilled with my new Fall / Autumn Jewelry, that I am a bit besides myself. And even though it is not extravagant, filled with detail, sometimes the best things in jewelry are simple, such as life.
Besides, Fall or as some would call it, Autumn IS my favorite season, its colors truly burst out of the seams.
So, with the array of colors to choose from, I could easily say that I am ecstatic! And since I have been collecting Fall colored Gemstones for some time now, I am more then ready to create.
Over this past weekend, I made individualized listings for my Acorn Pearl Earrings. As far as I am concerned these should be selling here quickly now. I also designed a Vintaj Brass Oak Leaf Necklace to accessorize the earrings. I only have the Czech Glass Pumpkin color available right now, but I plan on doing all the other colors soon. Here is a picture of the Vintaj Brass Oak Leaf Necklace.
Fall Vintaj Brass Leaf with Pumpkin (Orange) Czech Glass Beads
Personally, I love this leaf, it is very elaborate and quite distinctive. And to keep "true to nature" I designed this Necklace to include an Oak Leaf, because, Acorns do come from Oak Tree's. Since we are speaking about Acorns, below are the Acorn Earrings that you can complement this necklace with!
Autumn Pumpkin Orange Acorn Earrings
In combining these two jewelry pieces, I thought that this would be a traditional and delightful set!
It would be really nice to read what you thought, so please feel free to comment below.
I also have these earrings in a Swarovski Antique Brass Pearl Bead and Vintage Gold Pearl Bead as well.
I am including the photos with the links underneath:
Autumn Earrings Acorn Capped Antique Brass
Fall, Swarovski Vintage Gold Crystal Pearl Acorn Earrings
I have yet to make matching necklaces for these two colors, but I plan on ordering the materials for these very soon!
As of now, these are my newest earrings for Fall / Autumn. I have a lot more items that need listings, and photos. Quite frankly I should be taking photos and listing items, then making jewelry. Its just that making jewelry is just so much funner!

I have also added a new "Section" to my Etsy Shop" titled: Fall...Autumn...Seasonal,just click on that title, and it will take you right to that section!
To view all of my handmade jewelry, just click here
Remember, if you ever have a question, you can always convo me on Etsy, or find me on Facebook!

Before I go, I would like to share this necklace. I will be listing this piece soon!

Another one of my Favorites! But then again ALL my Fall / Autumn Jewelry pieces are, LOL
And if I have kept your attention this far, then I hope you will take advantage of this coupon offer! For a discount of 15%, please use the code BLOG15 when checking out!
This coupon will expire September 6th, 2011
Enjoy,
Cathy

Lately........

I have just been in the biggest creative rut ever, honesty I really haven't felt like designing anything lately. For the past few weeks, when I sit at my bead table I just stare at all my pretty beads, not knowing how I want to combine them, or what I want to make, a necklace or a bracelet.
Meanwhile, I am losing other skills by not using them, even as simple as wire wrapping. Although I know that will come back to me quickly, its till a waste of some wire.
So, yesterday, I decided I needed to do something! So I sat for a moment, then grabbed my container of Czech Glass Beads, tossed them all on the table, and started gathering beads I thought would look good together combined. This is what I came up with:
Czech Glass and Freshwater Pearl Bracelet in Copper

At first, I wasn't quite sure if I should list it on Etsy. I mean, its a pretty simplistic bracelet, very light in detail. But after posting pictures on my FB Fan Page, and the comments I received, I changed my mind. And even though it is simplistic, this bracelet is still very gorgeous. The White Freshwater Pearls add an undeniable elegance to the Czech Glass Beads, and Copper Spacers. So, ultimately, I am pleased with it.

I'd like to say that I will be creating more this weekend, but it is busy already. My husband needs work Shoes, and we are taking my son, Marty, clothes shopping to the Mall for School again. Seems like that's all I have been doing lately, running around as money becomes available, to purchase more and more for him. We should be done this week, thank God.

So, what have you been up too? I'd like to know!

BESTeam Feature

My Besteam Feature is on a delightful lady named,Claire.  She is the Shop Owner of bluewhitejewelrywearClaire, was born and raised in New York, recently though, she and her husband have relocated to Santiago, Chile.
Claire says that "This is their first time in South America, and both of them love this new adventure”.  Claire has always enjoyed working with Blue and White Chinese Beads. She creates unique jewelry for woman, yet her jewelry pieces are suitable for teenage girls as well. And being that her favorite materials to work with are Blue and White Chinese Beads. I decided to show my favorite piece using Claire's favorite Beads.
  Pearls and Porcelain Necklace
This necklace, shown above, combines elegant Freshwater White Pearls and Blue and White Chinese Porcelain Beads. I really think this jewelry piece is just stunning, in color and in texture.  If you’re not familiar about these Blue and White Chinese Beads, here is a short note on their history: Chinese Porcelain Beads are nostalgic of the aged dynasty porcelains, and well known throughout the world. The Blue and White Porcelain became established in the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368), yet blossomed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These beads are hand painted with Chinese characters illustrating the words: longevity, happiness, wealth, love, and good fortune. The first color hand painted on the Porcelain Bead is Cobalt. Although this color is a very rich and deep dark Blue, it actually lightens during the firing at a high temperature. Next, a white glaze is applied to the bead, which in turn then highlights the Cobalt symbols.

But, dont think for a minute that Bluewhitejewelrywear is just about Blue and White!
Claire has many jewelry pieces in her Etsy Shop that combine several other colors and not only that, she designs other creative items that you might find fitting for your home as well.
Take for instance these sweet and lovely Bird House Wine Glass Charms. I must say, they are so perfect for summer!

Birdhouse Wine Charms

Lastly as I was "window shopping", personally, I was very impressed with the variety bluewhitejewelrywear offers, Claire’s designs look to be well made, creative in design and very attractive. Out of all of her selections it was difficult to find just three items, I could have shown many more I liked, and even more difficult to choose was the last piece for this feature. But, with this being said, I chose this piece for my last.

Chunky Coral Necklace

As of right now, Claire is vacationing in the USA, visiting family in New York. She will be returning July 17, 2011.  If you decide to purchase from this lovely shop, Claire will begin shipping on the 19th of July.  To read more about Bluewhitejewelrywear visit her Blog here! And follow her on Twitter.

My BESTeam Feature for this week is.......

My BESTeam Feature this week is on this Etsy Shop that has very tantalizing handmade products! This Etsy Shop is called Msformadehyde, and the lovely owner’s name of this Shop is Kelly. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Kelly loves everything that is: Tiki, Polynesian, Hawaii, Tiki Oasis, and Day of the Dead. She also designs carved skulls, sugar skulls, Gothic, voodoo, glitter fashion, lowbrow, Lolita Pin - up and Dita burlesque accessories.
I think these barrettes shown below are very unique, and well, Gothic, and voodooish? That would be a new word for me, not something you will find in a Websters Dictionary :)
Kelly also does wedding flowers for all different types of weddings. This Wedding Couture would certainly be my favorite!
Wedding Couture, 1920s flapper girl, Peacock feather, OOAK
As I continued to "window shop" at Msformaldehyde, I found these very sweet, and just adorable Tiki Earrings. Kelly also offers a similar pair, that is available in several colors, you can found those here!

My BESTeam Feature........

This week’s, BESTeam Feature, is on my Team Captain, Karen, of Mystic Wynd. Needless to say Karen has a very unique shop, and she is sure to cover all types of woman who wear jewelry!
As Karen stated  “Whether your style is simple or bold, classic or trendy, elegant or glitzy, Mystic Wynd has something for you at a price you can afford from a crafts person with a simple philosophy”.

To me these Hairpins are a beautiful, sunny, example of simplicity! In fact they are a personal favorite of mine. I have recently used these cheerful Hairpins in a recent Treasury I curatored with BESTeam members.

Karen was born and raised in the Windy City (Chicago, IL).  She was lucky enough to grow up in a culturally mixed and, ethnically rich community. Handcrafted goods decorated their places of residence, places of worship, and occasionally these goods sold when displayed at the little shop around the corner in her neighborhood.
Today, Karen lives in Arizona and is married to a “computer geek”, named Al. She has three children, three step-children, and seven grandchildren.
Lots of things have changed, but the one thing that has not changed though, is her love for crafting.
And this jewelry piece certainly says love and passion.
Pink Faux Pearls, Roses on Brass Necklace - Rosalyn
Creating a jewelry piece as lovely as the necklace shown above takes careful planning and time, trust me, I know!

When Karen worked outside the home, she has been retired for three years now; she worked in the health insurance field.  But due to personal reasons and tired of the “corporate grind”, she started to investigate other options she could do. Remembering the love of crafting, she proceeded into that area again, and created Mystic Wynd.
As I continued "window shopping" at Mystic Wynd, my eyes happily shifted to this!
Sterling Silver Botswana Agate Earrings
Why, you may ask?! Well, because a while back a friend of mine introduced me to these Gemstones! I immediately fell "in love" with them. This pair of earrings combine a gorgeous specimen of this fine Gemstone.

Not only is Karen busy with her Etsy Store, Mystic Wynd, she also has two other Etsy Shops, TheCraftersCabinet, which carries: destash and supplies, and MWElegance, that supplies: Bridal & Special Occasion Jewelry and Accessories. These Etsy Shops are certainly worth checking out, as well as Mystic Wynd!
Karen is also hoping to “launch” her own expanded Web store sometime this year, 2011.
And because Karen loves variety it certainly would be a good idea to check her Etsy Shops often! Adding them to your “Favorites” on Etsy or to your personal computer would be worth your while!
If you do have any questions regarding any of her Etsy Shops, Karen not only is happy to answer them, she welcomes and encourages questions as well!

Karen Is also a proud member of the following Etsy teams:
EtsyBloggers, BESTeam, Etsy Success, Captain's Quarters, Etsy Blog Team, Treasury Team for Tutti, and Handmadeology.

To keep up with Karen and her happenings, (good luck, because she runs circles around me!) here is a list of websites to “follow” her on!
Twitter, FaceBook, Handmade Spark, and Creating the Hive
Be sure to read her Blog, and follow her!She posts often and always has something that's great to read!

My BESTeam Feature for this lovely week is:

My BESTeam feature for this week is Bits and Beads by Gilliauna. Now usually when I do my features, I gather all my information of the shop I am featuring, as much as I can! I always start in the profiles of the Etsy Shop and Blog. Then I choose the listings in their shop that I find most attractive to display in my feature. I think I have always had problems in choosing listings from a shop, because it always is a very difficult decision. I also try and keep the reader in mind, so I want to choose listings that are attractive, affordable, even on my budget, and noticeable in quality.

I know maybe you’re thinking "and the point to all this is?"
Well I really wanted to explain how I do my features, so when I went to Gilliauna's profile I read this:
“The colors that surround us add an extra level of beauty and richness to every day of our lives. Sometimes color isn't just seen but experienced through all the senses and even the emotions.
We strive to add a bit of extra color to your life and make each of your days a little brighter with a variety of colorful, quality pieces that will be perfect as a gift for yourself or for someone else!”

Personally, everything written in that statement, is pictured in this lovely set. And it is splendid for year round wear!
Lovely Ladybugs Handmade Earrings
Ladybug Love Handmade Charm Bracelet in Red
I couldn’t help but to show you the "Shop Motto" first!
The way that this is expressed is so meaningful. And although I strive for this, I wouldn’t even be able to write something this lovely and profound!
So, after looking at the listings in this shop, it became quite apparent, they truly feel this way about their designs.
Here are just a few more designs that caught my eye while in their Etsy Shop.

For the person whom likes to keep their eyeglasses nearby, this beaded eyeglass chain is simply beautiful in a very soft pink.
Beaded Eyeglasses Chains - Soft Pink Mornings
Living in Benicia, and having grown up here, I have a special fondness for the ocean. I think this dolphin bookmark is very nice. A perfect reminder of the ocean, and sea mammals.
DolphinBookmark, Book Charm, Book Hook. Handmade Artisan Jewelry by Gilliauna
These are just a few products that I found in Bits and Beads by Gilliauna
This shop has so much more to offer and has a large variety of many beautifully designed items.
I encourage you to go and take a look, but before you do that, make sure you don’t have anything else to do for a while. I can guarantee that you’ll be spending lots of time looking around and hopefully even doing a bit of shopping!
I also have to mention another nice feature about this shop is they also accept Google Checkouts and Amazon Payments!
You can find out more information about that here.
In addition to their Etsy Shop, you can find Bits and Beads by Gilliauna below:
Website, Facebook, Blog, Twitter, Flickr, deviantArt, Tumblr, and the The Meandering Musings Blog

My BESTeam Feature for this week is Agnes who lives in Brooklyn. New York. She operates BeaderBubbe on Etsy.
Agnes designs jewelry, but not just jewelry made with your typical beads. She designs jewelry with a large variety of materials, such as: rubber, polymer clay, ceramic, and even gemstones. These earrings shown below, have always been my favorites! These are just so cute, how could anyone resist them. Agnes even has these earrings available in a "boy" style in her Etsy Shop, this pair is so adorable! To view the "boy" earrings just click on "boy".
Chrissy Earrings
Agnes has five children, is grandma to six, with another one on the way!
And she still finds time to create beautiful jewelry pieces.
When Agnes retires she will spend more time making jewelry, she hope that it will be soon! I would certainly like to see more designs in polymer clay. It just fascinates me with what one can make! I think these earrings are very nice to say the least. These earrings even have a necklace to match (click on "necklace" to view product)
Blue Trees Earrings
Most of Agnes’s designs do not make it to her store. They are bought up by friends, co-workers and family. I think we all run into that occasionally. Where you show someone and they say, “I’ll take that, how much?”! If I didn’t make jewelry and I saw this piece (pictured below) in person, THAT’S exactly what I would say to Agnes!
Butterfly Earrings
For the people who wear black and its coordinating, complementing colors, this is a splendid pendant to flatter your style. This pendant even comes with a ribbon necklace in black or white, (your choice!) with a lobster clasp. And the price is certainly reasonable!
Black and White Pendant
I also have to add that Agnes has an awesome blog! She posts on it often, almost everyday it seems like to me. She reads a lot too, so she posts information about books she has read also. You’ll find food ideas there, and lots of other information that you might find helpful.

Just like her Etsy Shop, BeaderBubbe, her blog is worth checking out, and certainly worth “following”!

You can also find Agnes on FaceBook, and Twitter!

BESTeam Feature ~ ElizabethMD

My BESTeam Feature for this week is on a sweet lady named Elizabeth, Shop owner of ElizabethMD. Her shop is her creative outlet reflecting her eclectic personality and other interests.
This listing below is a splendid design in “Art Deco”, one style which reflects her various interests.

Blue Art Deco Teardrop Ring
Because I feel that I was able to get to know the owner of the Etsy Shop I was featuring, I decided late last week that I would do my feature with interview questions again!
As I post these questions and answers,  I will also be posting pictures, of my favorite pieces of jewelry Elizabeth has available for purchase in her Etsy Shop, ElizabethMD.
I started just with some common questions!

What's your favorite flower?
My absolute favorite flower is the Tiger Lilly. The symbolism of the tiger lily is like other lilies in that they symbolize the feminine principle reflecting the qualities of mercy, compassion, kindness and unconditional love. Lilies are associated with the planet Venus, the water element and the goddesses Venus, Juno, Mpethys and Kwan Y'in. However the Tiger Lily represents the more powerful aspects of femininity. :)
Can you share your philosophy on life?

My philosophy on life is quite simple. Fight for what you want work hard for what you think you deserve, and live life to it's fullest.

Black and white Swarovski Necklace
And then I moved on to her jewelry:

What do you think is the most outstanding quality of the items you sell?
I have such a wide range of jewelry in my shop that it makes it easy for anyone to come in and find something they like!
How did you feel the first time someone actually paid money for something you had made
I feel the same way now as I did that first time. It's excitement, shock, more excitement (a little happy dance), and then a scurry to package, personalize and ship the necklace/bracelet/earrings/ring to it's new home.

Cream and Blue Rose Ring
And then a few more I thought were good questions!

Photography is such an important part of selling online… I have to ask - how many photos, on the average, do you take of each listing before deciding on the 5 that you end up using.
Photography is the most crucial element of selling online. It goes right back to a picture is worth 1000 words. Shoppers can't touch what we are selling, therefore I literally take hundreds of pictures. I choose different backgrounds to test. I take pictures at every angle. Sometimes I download the pictures onto my computer, and go through them and they still aren't quite what I want, then I will go back and re-shoot. As you can see though through the evolution of my shop, you can definitely tell the difference in my photo's.
They say that clothes make the man - what accessory do you think makes the woman?
An amazing pair of earrings to elongate the neck. You can wear a rockin' pair of earrings and barely wear any other jewelry (well put some rings on of course :D).

Ice Blue Crystal Earrings with Chain Tassels
In conclusion, I hoped you have enjoyed reading this interview, as much as I have had posting my results for this feature!
Please leave a comment below and tell me what you think, I would really appreciate it!
And if there is something you could suggest, yes, constructive criticism, please post that also. I am certainly into changing something you may find to better my features!

Better yet, for all of you who have read this feature, and go to ElizabethMD's Etsy Shop and make a purchase. Elizabeth offered a coupon code, just for this feature, how nice!
Here is a coupon code, BAUBLES25, you can use for 25% off!
Now, thats a stunning deal.

BESTeam Feature ~ CreativityBugs

This week I will be doing my BESTeam Feature on Creativity Bugs! This Shop on Etsy opened in January 2011. It is owned by two sisters Sue, aka: crafty crafter, and Sandy, aka: creator, artist, and seamstress. These two sisters are enthusiastic about crafting, so much, that what turned in to making gifts for friends and family has blossomed into a business endeavor.
Creativity Bugs specializes in handcrafted mini books, paper crafting kits, handcrafted gifts, handmade cards, paper crafts, card making supplies, scrap booking supplies, embellishments, craft supplies, and more!
Shown below is one of CreativityBugs handmade cards. The card is beautiful to give any time of the year, and perfect for any reason being that its blank inside!
Gold Burgundy Green Firefly Flower Blank Card
Personally, Besides loving handmade products, especially cards, I also LOVE candles!
Candles are a necessity, not only can they scent your environment, look pretty, but they light your path when electrical power fails. Decorated in bold bright colors, here is a candle worth keeping out!

Creme Brule scented candle with butterflies

Sue and Sandy began crafting at an early age. Their devotion to crafting was learned from their mom, who lovingly instructed these two sisters on how to create something special from materials that were no longer useful.
As a youth Sue’s first Brownie Badge was for Art’s and Crafts! Other earlier projects she made were string loop potholders, remember those? I loved those myself, and enjoyed making those also! Sue also reused cereal boxes and plastic containers to make furniture for her dolls.
Sue’s sister Sandy is an artist, crafter, and a seamstress. In High School Sandy took art classes. These classes expanded her horizons, contributed to her flare for color and composition, and a yearning to turn junk into joy. There is none other who can find “A Diamond in the Rough” like Sandy can, while scouring garage sales and thrift stores, then turning the find into extraordinary gifts as she can!
Do you have a Spring or Summer wedding to attend this year? Better yet an upcoming anniversary?
This card would be a perfect card for either or these occasions. And not only that, you could give this card "just because"! Inside this card you are able to express your feelings, thoughts, and well what ever you want because its blank inside!
love-romance-valentine-anniversary-red-blank card
Overall I find this shop, Creativity Bugs a great place to shop for handmade products and cards. I am certainly impressed with their motto:"lovingly creating items for others to love & cherish". And I am also pleased to know that "We guarantee quality workmanship as nothing leaves our "shop" unless it has been crafted with 100% craftsmanship mixed in with creativity and a pinch of kindness & love".
So, go take a peek!
Be sure to check out their Blog as well.
Last week I found a fabulous recipe for Taco Soup that I want to try, on the next Wintry day here in Benicia, Ca.

BESTeam Feature ~ youaremysunshine

My BESTeam feature for this week is on a delightful designer named Nina.
Nina specializes in handmade fabric flower brooches, fabric flower hair pins, rings, earrings, bracelets and statement necklaces. Her designs are beautifully done in several colors. Here is just one example ( a favorite of mine) of what you will find at her Etsy Shop, youaremysunshine!
Handmade Shabby Roses Fabric Floral Necklace Azure Blue
While growing up, Nina attended an “all girls” Catholic School until collage. In collage she studied to be a Vet, because her parents wanted to have a “Scientist” in the family. She says that this is a “very common cultural value in the Philippines”.
Today, Nina works at home on her business, she is actively involved in her children’s lives and assists her husband on his business. She says that she is spending much more time on her business now then ever. This is easily shown in all of the listings in her shop, and often postings on her Blog. To me, this shows that Nina is very dedicated to everything she does. Her designs and craftsmanship certainly reflect her dedication.
Fabric Shabby Roses Painted Glass Button Necklace
Necklace Ethereal Fabric Flower with Vintage Rhinestone Brooch
Nina has always been interested in interior design, the arts, designing.
In her younger years she would decorate and redecorate whatever living area she was in!
Then and even today, she feels that if she could live in a cardboard box, it would be the most appealing and comfy cardboard box. These items below that Nina has designed would make lovely addition's too any type of living space!
Vintage Button Bouquest No. 1
Lavender Sachets Mint Green In The Garden No. 1
I have shown only a few lovely items that Nina carries in her Etsy Shop, youaremysunshine
So, be sure to take a peek because, I am sure that you will find many things that are eye pleasing, and maybe even something you'd like to purchase :)
You can also visit Nina's other Shop on Etsy that carries Vintage Finds at:  mysunshinevintage

Other places to keep in touch with Nina are on her Blog and Twitter

Have a nice day everyone!
